Overview

A small JCOS park with a new large parking area and bathroom facilities just completed last year ('07), this is an easy trail system. Probably not worth the drive for hard-core or big mileage riders. Great place to bring kids and other MTB beginners.

Trail Description

Junction House: .6 miles out and back.

Shadow Pine Loop: 2.4 miles.

Exclusively singletrack. Very easy, a good place to get beginners interested in riding MTB trails. Very little gain, and a good place to do many, many, many laps.

Getting There

From JCOS:

Travel south from Evergreen on County Highway 73 approximately 6.8 miles to the main trailhead entry road. From US Highway 285 at Aspen Park, take Barkley Road to County Highway 73. Turn north and travel to the main trailhead entrance. Alternative parking is available on Shadow Mountain Drive at Highway 73.

When to Bike

Trails can hold snow until late April. Mid-April to mid-December, depending on snowfall. Generally shaded trails.
