Overview

This page is for the different assorted trails around cross creek gold course.

Cross Creek Golf Course is located in the beautiful Walker Basin. Before the course was put in, it used to be a beautiful vally with a large meadow that consisted of lots of bunchgrass. People have tried time after time to build hundreds of house in the valley around the course, but the only thing that they have allowed in the valley is the golf course.

Around the course there are many different assorted trails.

Trail Description

Avenida Del Oro actually goes through the course, however, it is a dirt road that isn't very well maintained. This makes a nice trail to ride, plus at the end, there is a fairly large hill (which makes for some nice uphill and down hill riding). Also, there are many little roads and trails coming off the road, which can also be riden on. From the parking area, if you head just north, there are also a lot of little trails which you can ride.

In the summer, if you stay until after the course closes, you can also ride around on the cart paths. Or you can do this on there slow days, just be sure not to get caught (they don't really get mad, but they don't really want you to do this). Also, when the cart paths are wet, DO NOT ride on them. They can get very slippery. Becuase of this, I crashed and permanetly messed up my elbow.

Getting There

From Temecula- From the 15 fwy, take a right (if your coming from the north) or a left (if your coming from the south) onto Rancho California Road. Follow this road west up into the mountains that overlook Temecula. Take a left on Avenida Del Oro and follow it all the way to the golf course. There will be a little turn out at the end covered by large oak trees. Park here and begin riding.

When to Bike

Year round. Generally, you want to try and avoid summer becuase it can get really hot.
