Overview The Shivela Trail is trail located at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve. The trail connects with the Sylvan Meadows Trail and the Stevenson Canyon Trail. This trail is fairly flat and un-technical, which makes it a nice ride for beginners. Part of the trail lies exposed as it crosses Sylvan Meadows and then part of it lies covered with large oaks and chaparral.
The Sylvan Meadows area is a multi-use area, which means that the trails are open to bikers, hikers and horses. Be respectful and share the trail.
The views from this trail across the plateau into the valley and then out to San Gorgonio and San Jacinto. If you go in the winter or spring, these mountains will be covered in snow, which makes for an amazing backdrop.Trail Description The trail is a fairly wide trail. So there is plenty of room. It gently winds its way along the base of the mountains and skirts the edge of Sylvan Meadows. A nice thing about this trail is that it is really easy to follow. When the trail gets closer to the mountains, it becomes shaded, which is nice for the hotter months. The trail is not strenuous by any means. It undulates up and down along natural drainages. Technically speaking, this trail is really easy. A few rocks here and there add some excitement, but it can easily be traversed by novice riders.
