Hint for non Europeans:

Riva is at the northern end of the Lago di Garda.
The Garda Lake is located in northern Italy ( Trentino Alto Adige) only 70 meters above Sea level, but it is 340m deep.
The climate is mild (palms, olive and lemon trees), even if the upper part of the lake is surrounded by mountains 2000 meters high: Ledro Alps, Baldo range.
Sports climbers, mountainbikers, windsurfers and gourmets find their paradises here.

This classic ride from Riva to Tremalzo is very beautiful because it offer the best views of the lake.
Starting from Riva (66m)., the track goes on ascending and leading you along the old spectacular road from Riva to Pregasina.( old Ponale route)
The rocky trail is cuttered in the Mount Rocchetta' walls and sheer drop to the lake.
The view is great and fantastic.
Arriving at the quiet village of Pregasina you have to climb a steep slope that leads you to Cima Larici and then to the Rocchetta Pass.
The trail in the wood requires your attention: roots and obstacles often compel to push the bike.
The arrival to Rocchetta Pass repays some toils and persuades to a pause and to enjoy the fine panorama.
From Nota Pass start the real military road that were build during WW 1 along the border between Italy and Austria.
From Tremalzo pass you can start the slope that leads you to Ledro lake and then, through the old Ponale track, till Riva del Garda.
oterwise you can retourn back to the same road: after following the WW I trail from 1750m down to about 1350m, the trail goes on again for several kilometers at this height, allowing happy views over the lake
