A temporary solutionAt present it isn't possible to add anything but Trails to the front page of MBPost. Some good submissions wont get the attention they deserve. This page will serve as a portal for these. The Lake District

The Lake District by Andy Livo
There is another page entitled The English Lake District on mbpost but I feel that there is a need for more information and so I have produced this area page. I hope that people will find it informative and helpful if they are planning a visit to this incredible part of our Island. No page will ever be definitive and I have consequently not attempted to be so here. It is highly personalised from my own experience and I am sure that others could give a different slant. The Running on Empty Trilogy

Bicycle Hitchhiking and the Denali National Park Highway by Junodirtrider.
Sitting in the saddle of my hybrid commuter with one hand on the bars and my other thumb in the air, I found myself in the sprawling frontier metropolis of Anchorage. Unsure of my particular whereabouts and immediate destination, SUV’s, 18 wheelers, and metro buses whizzed by, just beyond my left shoulder at break neck speeds. “Back in the hectic city,” I reckoned to myself. I had been living near the podunk community of Moose Pass centrally located beneath the snow capped mountain tops of the Kenai Peninsula, approximately 100 miles south of Alaska’s international hub. Denali National Park

Denali National Park by Junodirtrider.
Denali National Park is a perfect 91 mile mountain bike ride. The Denali Park Road is a combination of delights; 76 miles of graded dirt, 15 miles of pavement, and all the wildlife encounters a person could ask for on a bike trip. Bear, wolverine, caribou, wolf, fox, golden eagles, moose, and a hundred other species of much smaller animals live in the park. The Park Road has eight passes and ascending the hills is much easier when heading out of the park rather than heading in to Wonder Lake and Kantishna.Into the Mountains

Into the Mountains by Josh.
This was my most interesting adventure in my opinion, and unusual. It was a trip of long endurance, time after time I was exausted and had to continue. I been wanting a trip like this for atleast two years now, and never really acually did it, perhaps I never felt the courage or perhaps now I was more experienced with bikes and mountains than ever.Great Falls Park

Great Falls Park by Bob Sihler
Great Falls Park is a unit of the National Park Service. It is popular with hikers, sightseers, picnickers, rock climbers, and kayakers; I myself have been guilty of being all of those but a picnicker there.
The most outstanding feature at Great Falls, and the park's namesake, is the series of cascades that occur where the Potomac River narrows to plunge into the cliff-lined corridor known as Mather Gorge, where the rock climbing areas are concentrated.Des Plaines River Trail

Des Plaines River Trail by woodsxc
The Des Plaines River Trail is a 31 mile crushed-gravel trail running from the length of Lake County in northeast Illinois. It parallels the Des Plaines River for much of its length. Called simply the DPR by locals, it is a multi-use trail that connects twelve of Lake County's forest preserves.Eric's tips

Eric's Tips by Visentin.
After reading the amusing and interesting article of Andy "Top Ten Tips for MTBers" it came to my mind to make my own page of this kind, to make a sort of continuation of it.
My experience in bike maintaining is not very big and quite recent, more exactly since I started to cycle to work. Cycling daily increase significantly the bike usure and oblige one to have some basic knowledge, to avoid spending time taking it every time to the shop...
I hope you will find some of these tips useful !A nice day riding to Meadow Dale

A nice day riding to Meadow Dale by Josh.
All though this was'nt much of a bike ride, me and my friend Sean made the best of it. The trail it self was about 1.25 miles each way, but we decided to ride our bike to the place which would add more distance making the trip somewere around 7 to 8 miles. This does'nt sound like much to a mountain biker, but yester day I went snowboarding which was tiring, and there was a lot of steep down and up hill. Redwood Coast

Redwood Coast by Cedar.
The Redwood Coast is a general term used to describe the extreme northern California coast covered by some of the tallest trees in the world. At the heart of the region lies Redwood National Park, a thin strip of land now stretching from Crescent City to Orick. It is surrounded by numerous state parks from the Oregon border down to Garberville.Idiots in the Middle East

Idiots in the Middle East by Corax.
I was looking through some old photo albums last night. Memories of almost forgotten adventures came back. When I had read my old travel logs and looked through all the photos, I was struck by two thoughts:
I’m very happy I’m alive today.
I was a complete idiot.
Torbjörn and I took off for Bulgaria. Our plan was to cycle to Cairo, Egypt.
That was the plan, plain and simple. No details were set. We were on a low budget. $3/day was our limit. Torbjörn had no real bicycle. He decided to use his old 3-gear monster with balloon tires.

Day Before the Storm by Woodzy.
Well it had been a few weeks since I had gone riding, so that needed to change. Since I had just gotten off from school, I decided it was time. However, the problem was, it had been raining for four days before. Luckily, there was a three day gape between the storm that had passed and between the one that was supposed to be coming (and it came alright). The day before was a Saturday, but I had three soccer games in a tourney (we lost all of them miserably). So Sunday was going to be the day for the riding since the storm was supposed to hit hard the next day.Park City Area
Park City Area by Woodzy.
Most people think of Park City Utah as a skiing and snowboarding destination, but when the snow melts, the mountain biking begins. Located in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, Park City offers some of the most exciting and scenic mountain biking in the country.
The Tatras
The Tatras by Visentin.
The Tatras are a range for the hiker far more than for the cycler, but there are some interesting possibilities".
50 km long for 20km of width, but as sharp and steep as the heart of the Alps, they are surnamed the "smallest" biggest mountains of Europe.
