El Report...

School's out, and I already went to a party, so now it's time to do something more sensible. Like mountain biking. My friend Luke and I went up to Twin Peaks today and rode the Ridge and Meadow Loop, with Suspended in Paradise added on.

There's a lot of flowers blooming, including lupine, paintbrush, balsamroot, daisies, penstemon, and one called trumpet-something-or-other. All in all and awesome display.

I didn't bring my SLR but I did bring a video camera, so I made this little edit of out trip. 95% of it is me in the video (gray shirt), but Lukes in it a bit (purple shirt). Enjoy!

Keep working it up. More air, though we are not expecting the triple backflip ! Good to see the wise use of helmets. You only crack a head once !

Yes, we'll try...there are bigger jumps we kinda wimped out on them. And we always could've hit them with more speed...we're working on it!

Just remember that the bike is as hard as the ground. The bars, especially, are perilous. A full-face helmet will save a broken jaw. That's a rotten thing to damage.

Incidentally, bones become stronger the more we shock them. For example, karate people develop super strong bones, because the bone matrix becomes more dense. So the more we bang and bounce around, the stronger we become.

The long bones are more easily broken by side impact, but on the other hand, compression fractures create more complex breaks. So learn to roll if you guys tumble - like parachutists or judo people. This way, the body's momentum is disipated, instead of coming to a sudden halt.

Happy riding.

Dude ! That's awesome. Had to look that teaching up. Strangely, I went to a place in Japan called Toyama.
