BB part 2

Here are the 'guts' of the BB. The axle (obviously) on the bottom, the two cartidge bearings just above, dust caps above those and the tube into which all this fits at the top. The two compression rings are resting against the tube. To use this you need first to have your BB shell machined so the compression rings will sit flush. This piece I would definitely not call crap. In fact, it is still in use, on a bike that I'm currently working on (more on that later). I'm replacing the bearings and putting this bad boy back in! (Juno would approve - the only diagrams I could find were courtesy of the Barnett handbook).
