Thanks ! Yes, got a new compact camera, the old one was making randomly pink pictures from time to time, couldn't cope with it anymore ! And a compact was highly needed for biking.

Cool, I see the need for a compact for sure. I've got a Canon T2i DSLR with a larger 18-200mm lens on it I carry in a padded case in my pack. The two together make a large beast of a camera. Problem is having to take my pack off, get the camera out of it's own case, then get the shot. Sort of time consuming, but the image results are pretty decent. I've decided in addition to the Canon, to carry a smaller Casio Exilim 12 megapixel camera in one of my hip belt pockets on my pack for quick shots. Makes it a matter of just unzipping the pocket without having to take the pack off. Issue is the images don't really compare to the Canon. An example of this is on the new Jacob's Ladder Page. The highly vibrant colored shots are with the Canon, the more greenish bland shots are with the Casio. Kind of a comparison. At least the little Casio is there when I need it quickly.

However if you zoom at it, the image isn't so sharp. I think that for "nice" panoramas I'll continue to use the old technic...
