One of the many little attractions to encounter along most trails, the waterfall in this instance being found on the trail going within the Laurentians north of Quebec city up towards the town of "Riviere a Pierre" (which if I'm not mistaken is the #6 trail ).

Once taking this picture I tried to put emphasis on the contrasts to uncover once in a shaded area with the goal of reproducing the subtilities in coloration with sunlight . Although another picture taken at approximately the same moment in time of the natural stone bridge stands out much better in that regard despite giving starker illumination...

In this instance I started out first taking the train from Montreal towards "Riviere a Pierre " where this bike path starts (or finishes since most folks first start from Quebnec city...). I quite rapidly left civilisation and gradually climbed in the low hills. The wilderness was omnipresent for the start of the journey with the occasional buildings indicating the presence or artifacts of civilisation to give a sense of assurance which oddly enough was the cause of some negligeance once investigating the old railway building adjacent to the old railway bridge which became the overnight rest stop since in the middle of the night some loud noises from downstairs obliged me to ask some serious questions (it must have been a big bear ) ! Thank god I decided to adopt a nice cozy corner beyond reach upstairs ! I should have taken an overnight stop at the cyclist campground instead ! The quest continued the next day with the visual discovery of the towns and the presence of civilisation adjacent to the tracks . I ultimately continued towards Quebec city investigating some more sites of interest including those catering to cyclists...
