White Ranch is an expansive, spider network of trails with some good technical sections and lots of lung busting climbing. Two parking lots allow for very different rides. You can easily spend a day at White Ranch linking up all the various trails.

Trail Description

White Ranch has at least 10 distinct, name trails to ride ranging from .3 miles to over 4.5 miles. Trails are a wide mix of rocky, technical singletrack terrain to fast, flowing double track.

Climbing is abundant, especially when starting at the lower parking lot just off Highway 93. The climb from the lower parking lot to the top is over 1700 feet of elevation gain, but of course the ride down will make it all worthwhile.

Check the Jefferson County website for descriptions of the various trails:

Getting There

From Jeff Co's Trail Page:
East Access -- take Colorado Highway 93 north from Golden 1.7 miles to west 56th Avenue. Turn left (west) on Pine Ridge Road and travel about 1 mile to the east parking lot.

West Access -- take Colorado Highway 93 north from Golden approximately 1 mile to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Travel west approximately 4.1 miles to Crawford Gulch Road (Highway 57). Follow the signs to White Ranch Park.

When to Bike

Biking can be had in all four seasons, although the winter months can find lingering snow especially towards the top trails. Summer months can be quite warm as a lot of the terrain is exposed and lacking shade.
